ThermaVU - Thermal Analysis and Radiometric SDK Get a Better VU of the World in Infrared

Thermal, or infrared energy produces light that is not visible to human eyes because its wavelength is too long. In the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero releases heat and therefore is visible in the infrared spectrum. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted.
Infrared radiometric cameras produce images of invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. Since a large number of objects get hot before they fail, the use of thermal analysis makes infrared cameras extremely cost-effective and valuable diagnostic tools in many diverse applications.
If you are looking for a Thermal Analysis software package that fits your needs - ThermaVU is the one.
While other packages in the market provide nice features and gadgets, none of them can be customized to your exact needs. ThermaVU is a Software Development Kit - (SDK) for Thermal Analysis developers. Regardless of your programming language (LabVIEW, C++, VB), the SDK library of functions will help you build your own application with no compromises . Furthermore, you can easily integrate it into your engineering environment (R&D, industrial, military, etc.)
No more “closed” architecture packages. The ThermaVU open architecture library and examples will help you build the right solution in record time.
As always, you can rely on the WinSoft team of engineers to develop solutions for your specific-dynamic needs.
ThermaVU fully supports the Indigo Systems line of cameras and National Instruments line of products.
The library is arranged in five main groups:
• Image Acquisition • Camera Control • Thermal Analysis (Basic) • Thermal Analysis (Advanced) • Image Display • Motion Detection
Some of the features which are included in the library are:
• Visual image display • Support of two cameras simultaneously (IR and Non IR) • Remote Control of the IR Camera from a PC • Compatibility with Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP and NT • Spot temperature tools to display the temperature at a point in the image with camera, or user defined emissivity/background settings • Isotherm tools to color areas of the image within a defined temperature band • Labels to identify points in the image • Draw shapes or points on the image and display statistics about the temperatures in those areas • Compare two images • View isotherms (areas of equal temperature) • View and enter information about the image • Adjust image palette (colors) and scaling to enhance image features or to compare images • Copy image • Subtract one image from another • AND, OR images • Add/Subtract value • Multiply by a value • Get bounding-rectangle for line or region • Calculate area (number of pixels) under a line or within a region • Calculate/display maximum, minimum or mean intensity along a line or within a region • Calculate Centroid of region • Other features allow users to develop their own radiometric calibration routines, maintain a virtually unlimited number of camera calibrations optimized for specific circumstances and switch between them with ease.
